Several federal agencies and funders now require a data management plan (DMP) to accompany grant proposals, according to the DMPTool website ,

Data Management Checklist (Boston College)
"The following questions can help you to begin to think about how you will manage your data and the answers will be useful for developing the content of a data management plan."
Data Management Self-Asssessment Questionnaire
Similar to the checklist linked above, this tool assists you in thinking through and planning how you will collect, describe, store, publish/share and preserve. A helpful tool to use as your DMP is in process, or for use during revision.

The University of Minnesota has a number of examples of DMPs from the sciences and social sciences.
Data Management in the Humanities (UCLA)
UCLA has created an entire guide devoted to DMPs/data in the humanities, including examples.

Agency & Funder Guidelines

SHERPA/JULIET
SHERPA/JULIET compiles open access and data policies for agency and private funders.
Institute for Educational Sciences
National Endowment for the Humanities, Office of Digital Humanities
While the NEH does not have a policy on data, the Office of Digital Humanities requires a DMP to be submitted with grant proposals.

Library Support for DMPs

The Library may be able to provide assistance with writing DMPs, advising on metadata, and helping faculty decide how and when to share data.
