Biographical Information
Martha Willis Coulling was born in 1866 in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from State Female Normal School in Nashville, Tennessee (now Peabody College) in 1886. In 1887, Coulling accepted a teaching position at State Female Normal School in Farmville, Virginia where she taught drawing and Latin until her retirement in 1942. This scrapbook compiled by the June class of 1894, was presented to Martha Coulling in celebration of her 50 year anniversary teaching at [State Teachers College].
