About Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Janet D. Greenwood Library support the Library’s services, facilities and collections through fund raising events, membership and social gatherings.

The Janet D. Greenwood Library partners with Longwood University students, faculty and staff to be a technology-based, learning-centered environment that is integral to the intellectual exchange, scholarly communication, cultural enrichment, lifelong information literacy, and creative expression of the Longwood community.

The Library …

  • affirms the University’s dedication to the development of citizen leaders.
  • prepares students to make positive contributions to the common good of society.
  • provides a welcoming, friendly environment for learning and teaching.

  • Greenwood Library Newsletter
  • Invitations to special events, such as book signings and book groups
$100 to $249 Editor
  • One (1) bookplate in honor or in memory of an individual of your choice
  • CD, DVD, and video check-out privileges
  • And all of the above
$250 to $499 Publisher
  • Two (2) bookplates in honor or in memory of an individual of your choice
  • And all of the above
$500 to $1,249 Patron
  • Five (5) bookplates in honor or in memory of an individual of your choice
  • And all of the above
$1,250 to $2,499 Collector
  • Ten (10) bookplates in honor or in memory of an individual of your choice
  • Membership in the Longwood University President’s Circle
  • Recognition on a donor honor roll located in the Library
  • And all of the above
$2,500 and up Greenwood Society
  • Twenty-five (25) bookplates in honor or in memory of an individual of your choice
  • Lunch with your favorite librarian

Become a Friend

Become a Friend of Greenwood Library

You may become a member of the Friends of the Library by making a tax-deductible contribution. Membership is yearly from July 1 to June 30. Online contributions may be made through the Longwood University Foundation; please specify “Greenwood Library” under “Designation”.

You may also mail contributions to the address indicated below. When mailing contributions, please make checks payable to Longwood University Foundation, Inc. and include your name, address, and email address.
