Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his sermon on "The Drum Major Instinct" at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 4, 1968, just two months before his death.

 

MLK Holiday

In 1983, the third Monday in January was declared a federal holiday in memory of civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who was assassinated on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, Tennesse.
